Hello World! (and some introductions)

That’s how you start the first blog post, right?

Okay, introductions first.

I’m Johan. I’m one half of this blog. You can see me pictured above together with the other half of this blog, who is is currently asleep. She’s sleeping and I’m working on the blog. That’s what you get when there’s half a world between you. And that’s what this blog will be about. Me and her.

Her name is Kylie, by the way. And she’s great. (I accept the fact that I may be biased).

We have been dating since November 2012, and have met once since then, a month over Christmas and New Years 2013. If we do the math, that means that, as of this post, we’ve spent about 1 in 31 months together in person. That’s roughly 3% of our relationship, and still I think we’re lucky to have been able to get that much so far, considering the cost of travelling from Australia to Sweden. 9485 miles across the world.

I think that’ll be enough for the first post. There’ll be more coming soon. Some proper introductions and things like that. We are still working out exactly what kind of content we will post here, but I hope that it will both be entertaining and educational, whether you are in a long distance relationship yourself, know someone who is, or just want to know more about how it works.

You’re welcome to join us on this journey, because it’s far from over yet.

  1. Maintaining a long-distance relationship for that long definitely shows a lot about your dedication to your relationship. It’s such a blessing when you find someone special in your life. Wishing you all the best and welcome to WordPress!

    1. No, it’s not, though I can see where the connection could be made. It’s more of a joke on the standard new blog post/new website message. Anyway, thank you for your support ūüôā
